Tecalemit Garage Equipment signed the Armed Forces Covenant in early 2023 as part of its commitment to supporting and empowering the wider Armed Forces community as an inclusive employer.
Since signing the covenant, Tecalemit has been awarded the Bronze Award in the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, demonstrating its success as an Armed Forces-friendly employer. Since starting in 1922, Tecalemit has worked with all branches of the Armed Forces and understands the sacrifices and contributions of serving personnel, reservists, veterans, and military families.
The Armed Forces Covenant is a pledge to those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces and their families. It is about ensuring that members of the Armed Forces community are not disadvantaged compared to others. It is a pledge of support from businesses, organisations, and individuals to help improve the lives of those who have served and continue to serve our country.
Tecalemit takes this pledge seriously, recognising the Armed Forces community’s value to society and wanting to do its part in giving back to those who have given so much to us. By signing the Armed Forces Covenant, Tecalemit hopes to continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of those associated with the Armed Forces.
Speaking about receiving the Bronze Award, Penny Rolls, Tecalemit’s Head of Supply Chain Operations, said, “We realise that moving from military life to civilian life can be challenging and take pride in offering job opportunities to veterans and reservists. Tecalemit provides the training and support to help them succeed in their new careers. We believe every individual deserves a fair chance to thrive, and we are committed to assisting members of the Armed Forces community in achieving their goals.”
