After several months of detailed and intensive work Tecalemit Garage Equipment was confirmed as an official City and Guilds Training Centre on the 6th January. Tecalemit is now approved to provide a Level 3 Certificate in Mobile Air Conditioning Systems. This Certificate has three levels, the initial F-Gas qualification (licence to practice) that is already provided, a Service Technician Qualification and a Diagnostic Technician Qualification.
Since June of 2010 Tecalemit has been providing the F-Gas Qualification through the IMI Awards Scheme to customers with A/C servicing equipment. Following the success of the program, it was decided that the company should develop its capacity to deliver training to end users and to establish a formal structure through which all training is managed.
Gaining the accreditation is a significant achievement for the company and provides a platform to genuinely contribute to the quality of vehicle servicing in the UK. The new Training Department is officially registered with City & Guilds under the title of: Tecalemit Training College (firstname.lastname@example.org) and has 3 nationally based Approved Assessors.
Its not the first time that training has been offered from Tecalemit; older garage equipment fans may recall the Tecalemit Training School for Chauffeurs and Mechanics (1932) in Acton and the Tecalemit Student Engineer Training Scheme (1940’s to late 1950’s) in Plymouth.
City and Guilds and the City and Guilds logo are trade marks of the City and Guilds of London Institute and are used under licence.
