Tecalemit have announced the introduction of their latest generation of heavy duty commercial vehicle brake tester. The all new DE 9700 range is the first brake tester to be manufactured that has been specifically designed from the ground up to meet the UK ATF testing requirements. Martyn Quick, Tecalemit Product Manager outlined some of the core features of the new brake tester.
‘This is a true heavy duty brake tester, all other machines marketed in the UK have been initially developed for use in other, mainly European, markets where testing procedures are different, and certainly less rigorous than the UK testing requirements. Add to this the ‘conveyor belt’ type testing of a busy ATF and the need for a massively robust machine becomes evident.’
The new DE 9700 builds on Tecalemit’s unique experience of over 40 years experience in the field of commercial vehicle brake testing and includes 15Kw motors with a ‘soft start’ to reduce electro-dynamic stress which will extend the life of motors and gearbox components. The DE 9700 will continue to feature Tecalemit’s large LED results display screen which provides a clear graphic display of the test process and brake force values. The brake tester can be supplied in 2 man or 1 man operation format and has the added benefit of VOSA approval for ATL testing of Class IV and VII vehicles.
