There’s been a garage of some sort on the site of the Essex MoT and Alignment Centre in Ilford, Essex for decades. Vintage black and white pictures of the Alborough Road site in operation adorn the walls and there’s a sense of history in the building.
But when Amjid Mahmood and his business partners took the site over in 2013 they wanted a complete refurbishment – which was to include a comprehensive re-equip with the most up-to-date garage equipment on the market.
Amjid knows and trusts the Tecalemit range, and he called-in the company’s London Area Sales Manager, Bernard Gravillis for a discussion. But Bernard gave the company far more than just new equipment.
He provided extensive support and consultancy on the site redesign, helping to make more productive use of the workspace. Now this busy operation is making full use of its two MoT Lanes (one of them able to conduct Class 7 tests).
“Bernie designed the layout for us, and it works really well,” said Amjid. “I’ve personally worked with Tecalemit equipment for a long time, and I like it, but Bernie is much more than a supplier of equipment for us.”
