The Kettering-based Wise Group, which has an extensive business offering in the transport sector, has recently installed a 16-tonne commercial vehicle lift and other equipment from Tecalemit.

Wise Group offers logistics operations (including general haulage and palletised distribution). Also, it has fully equipped workshops providing HGV and PSV fleet maintenance, diagnostics, HGV inspections, repairs, and MOT. Maintenance packages include continuous maintenance and monitoring of fleets, with extremely diligent record keeping, at a high-quality workshop equipped with the latest diagnostic equipment.

“People are an important part of our business,” said Managing Director Marcin Zajac. “We take on well-trained and experienced vehicle fitters and recognise when supplier companies also have a high calibre team. It’s what we look for… because it gives you greater confidence that they’ll do what they say they’ll do. Tecalemit has a very strong range of high-quality equipment. For me, what set them apart was the ability to develop a great working relationship with their key people.”

“I’m very happy with the results – we have some seriously good new kit installed, which will enhance our ability to provide an excellent service to our own customers. Tecalemit talked to us all the way through the process, we got good advice from Steve Barnfield, who was our main contact, and the whole thing just worked. Lifts aren’t ‘off the shelf’ fast-moving consumer goods, they’re hefty pieces of engineering, and we do understand that no two installations will ever be exactly the same – that’s why the relationship with the supplier company is so important.”

The 16-tonne lift bought by Wise Fleet Maintenance was a special version of the SF/9825 hydraulic 4-post lift, better known in its 25-tonne guise. It has an eight-metre lift platform and was supplied with a jacking beam. A generous 1,000mm distance between the platforms allows more working space and easier access for equipment such as transmission jacks. The lift also has a generous 3,500mm drive-through dimension to enable easy access for wider vehicles. This lift can be installed either surface mounted or into a floor recess to provide easy access for low-ground clearance busses and coaches.
